Scooty on Rent in Udaipur

Scooty on rent
in Udaipur.

For getting around Udaipur itself, nothing beats an automatic scooter. No gears to think about, light enough to thread through the old city, and somewhere to put a bag and a bottle of water. It is the vehicle we hand over most often, and for most visitors it is the right one.

Why a scooty is the right choice in Udaipur

The old city was laid out long before cars and it shows. The lanes between Jagdish Temple, the ghats and Gangaur Ghat are narrow, busy and frequently one-and-a-half vehicles wide. A scooter goes where a car simply cannot, and parks where a car cannot either.

Everything a visitor comes for sits within a short ride. Fateh Sagar is about ten minutes from the old city, Sajjangarh about twenty-five, Badi Lake a little over twenty. A scooter turns a day of negotiating auto fares into a day of just going.

Automatic means there is nothing to learn. If you have ridden a scooter anywhere in the world you can ride this one, and if you haven't, the flat roads along Fateh Sagar are a forgiving place to get the feel of it.

What it costs and what's included

Scooter rates start lower than anything else we hire out, and drop again on weekly and monthly terms — worth asking about if you're staying more than a few days. The live daily, weekly and monthly prices are on each scooter below.

Two helmets come with every scooter at no charge. Fuel is not included; scooters here are frugal enough that a couple of hundred rupees covers several days of city riding.

We hold a refundable deposit, returned at drop-off. Nothing is taken online — we confirm everything with you directly first.

Getting comfortable on the first day

Start with the Fateh Sagar loop. It is wide, well-surfaced, scenic and gentle, and it gives you twenty minutes to get used to the brakes before you take on anything busier.

Keep to the left, use the horn the way everyone else does — as a friendly 'I'm here' rather than a complaint — and give cows the right of way without exception. They have it, and they know it.

Park in the marked bays near the ghats and around Fateh Sagar rather than against a shopfront. Parking is cheap and the alternative is an inconvenient conversation.

Common questions

How much is a scooty on rent in Udaipur per day?
Our automatic scooters start at ₹449 per day. Weekly and monthly rates lower the effective daily cost, and every current price is listed on this page.
Do I need a licence to rent a scooty in Udaipur?
Yes. A valid driving licence covering two-wheelers is required by law, along with one original photo ID. This applies to automatic scooters exactly as it does to geared motorcycles.
Is a scooty enough for two people?
For city riding, comfortably — our scooters are rated for a rider and a pillion, and two helmets are included. For long days out toward Kumbhalgarh or Mount Abu with luggage, a 350 will be a great deal more comfortable.
Can I rent a scooty in Udaipur for a month?
Yes, and it is much cheaper per day than renting by the day. Monthly rates are shown on each scooter below, and we can arrange a service partway through a long hire.
